Training Opportunities

Through the development of teaching programs and education sessions (for healthcare providers, medical students, fellows, and Master’s and PhD students), we actively support the delivery of evidence-based practice in stroke treatment, management, care, and prevention. Together with our partners we are working to increase accessibility of stroke education and facilitate learning on stroke related topics – through the provision of weekly stroke rounds, a multi-disciplinary stroke business meeting, weekly stroke education sessions, and bed-side rounds.

Fellowships with the Calgary Stroke Program

In the past 10 years, the CSP stroke fellowship program has trained over 35 clinicians. Fellows have joined our program from 12 countries to date, including India, South Korea, Germany, and Spain to name a few. In addition to their clinical and research activities, our fellows are exposed to weekly case rounds, weekly academic lectures, and monthly journal clubs.

Several of our fellows have gone on to academic appointments globally, while others have established major stroke centres around the world. Through various partnerships, many of our stroke fellows have also first-authored close to 100 full length original publication contributions while in our Program.
