Dr. Pamela Barton is a Clinical Associate Professor for the Department of Clinical Neurosciences at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Calgary.

Dr. Barton completed medical school at the University of Calgary, a residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Minnesota, as well as further post-graduate training in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology at the University of Saskatchewan.  She was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Western Ontario from 1983 - 1991, where she was Director of an inpatient chronic pain rehabilitation program.  She is a diplomat of the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine as well as of the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, including completing their Subspecialty Certification in Pain Medicine.

Dr. Barton is a co-founder and prior medical director of the Calgary Chronic Pain Centre as well as prior acting medical director of the Alberta Health Services Chronic Pain Centre.  She has a particular clinical and research interest in myofascial pain and prolotherapy as treatment approaches to chronic musculoskeletal soft tissue pain conditions, and continues to advocate for adequate interdisciplinary rehabilitation resources for the management of chronic pain conditions.
